GetThru's roots are in progressive politics, and we only work with clients who share our values.
GetThru was created by veterans of Bernie 2016, where we helped build the campaign’s historic voter contact operation. In the process, we saw the need for better technology for reaching people where they are—on their cell phones. After leaving the campaign we created ThruText, our P2P texting platform, which launched in September 2016. Two years later we released ThruTalk, our phone calling solution.
Our first clients were political campaigns and advocacy organizations. Today, with over 2,000 clients and counting, that remains the heart of our business. In 2017, we also began working with colleges and universities, and now over 400 educational institutions use our tools for admissions, recruitment, fundraising, and alumni relations. We have also expanded to work with nonprofits, pollsters, researchers, government agencies, and select mission-aligned for-profit companies. Together our clients have sent more than 1 billion text messages and made more than 750 million calls for event recruitment, voter and volunteer engagement, fundraising, polling, and more.
But, we weren’t always GetThru! We were known as Relay until March 2019, when we rebranded as GetThru. We love that our new name speaks directly to what we do — helping clients reach their audiences via real human-to-human connection.
